Company Update June 2024
Hi,
I am having a high point. We failed to raise an opportunistic seed round, and it feels awesome. Due to the failure, we will get to “put your company in a lix repository” faster. Investors did not value growth on inlang’s side as much as progress on lix side. This means that we can break git compatibility now to accelerate lix.
Failure to raise an opportunistic $7M or even $14M seed round
Pass reasons:
Many seed funds couldn’t participate in a $7M seed round
Growth funds passed because monetization was not reachable in either scenario, increasing the risk of failing to raise a follow-up Series A ($20-40M) round.
What we are changing:
Breaking away from git compatibility to reduce requirements and increase speed.
A future seed will require less capital and get us faster to monetization.

We tested variations of pitching lix. At the end of the conference, we were known as the lix people. Success and guidance on what works and what does not:
Comparisons lead to misleading anchor points e.g. “lix is like X” or “git for X”
