TL;DR
Full steam ahead with a rewrite of inlang and lix on SQLite, now that git compatibility is not a requirement anymore.
Expecting the end of August to be the release date.
The June 2024 update ended with “We can accelerate lix by breaking git compatibility.“
And oh boy, are we accelerating. Once the git compatibility requirement was dropped, the door was open for SQLite and a rapid-fire of four memos on “acceleration by years”, and a reminder of what the lix vision of change control enables:
Good
The strategy shift from “git compatible” to “SQlite is the way. Auf nimmer Wiedersehen git” has been set.
Lix now has a website https://lix.opral.com/ (early version, feedback welcome!)
Neutral
We received a negative comment on Reddit that inlang is hard to understand and bloated. My response is a worthwhile read because it explains why no other solutions are able to solve the problem without lix. Plus, it led to a “this sounds massive” response, which signals that I was able to convey the vision.
Misc
Lix end’s goal is a social network about the work we create. Share your music, video, interior plans, CAD files, etc.
